Caroline F. Ignacio is an international consultant focused on preventing gender-based violence globally with a specific focus on Latin America. Her experience includes extensive consulting with Promundo-US, Promundo Portugal and Instituto Promundo to design and implement formative and evaluation research. She is currently engaged in research focused on gender transformative programming to eliminate rigid, harmful gender norms and promote caregiving among men. She holds a BA in Public Health Studies from Johns Hopkins University and has a PhD from the Tropical Medicine Program at Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (IOC/ Fiocruz), where her research focused on incorporating the social determinants of health into people-centered primary healthcare services in high-conflict urban communities of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her role on the Ni3 International Advisory Group relates particularly to the Ni3 Brazil ‘Emilio’ project.
